Victim gunned down after goading rivals in online clips from pub
A GRINNING hitman was told "this is not Chicago in the 1930s" after he admitted shooting gangster Marc Webley in the back after turning up at a pub to execute him.
Paid assassin Grant Hunter, 34, gunned down Webley outside the Anchor Inn in Granton, Edinburgh, on Hogmanay 2023 then joked with pals the next day about Webley not seeing in the bells.
Video taken from CCTV outside the pub shows killer Hunter firing the shot that killed Webley.
Hunter then flees the scene by jumping in a getaway car that speeds off, leaving Webley dying in a pool of blood.
After he admitted the murder at the High Court in Edinburgh yesterday, Hunter was warned by Judge Lord Mulholland he may never be released from jail - and was told "the streets of Scotland are not war zones".
Hunter's former partner Emma McVie, 27, and another man, Gary Robertson, pled guilty to a charge of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
The court heard how Hunter carried out the killing of Webley, 38, on "behalf of others unknown". He also admitted the attempted murder of another man at the scene, Stewart Pearson.
