Kenny determined to bow out with a World Cup berth in bag

KENNY McLEAN is hellbent on giving the Tartan Army “a summer to remember" by helping Scotland reach the 2026 World Cup finals.

The 33-year-old Norwich midfielder has been a regular member of the national squads since making his Scotland debut in March 2016 ina Prague friendly against Czech Republic.

Scotland have featured at the most recent two European Championships - McLean missed the delayed 2020 finals through injury but was in Germany.

However, so far the World Cup finals have eluded him and Scotland, who last qualified for the tournament at France 98.

Qualification hopes for the global showpiece, which will take place in the United States,Canada and Mexico, have increased after Monday's 2-0 Group C win over Belarus in Hungary followed Friday's goalless draw with Denmark in Copenhagen.
