Robbie insists it was only a matter of time until Killie came good again with first win
-
ROBBIE DEAS knew it would only be a matter of time before Kilmarnock put it all together in the Premiership.
The captain-for-the-day helped Killie to their opening league win of the season and their first under Stuart Kettlewell.
The defender, who scored the clinching second, was always confident three points were on their way.
Killie had drawn four of their five opening games but finally got things over the line at Tannadice.
Deas said: "I think what we feel as a team, it's been coming. We've put a lot of good performances and good results away from home.
"The draw against Motherwell, the draw against Hibs were good results, but I think today kind of shows what we've been about.
"We've been unfortunate the last week or so with some of the results [losing to a last-minute Celtic penalty and then going out of the Premier Sports Cup to St Mirren in a shootout] and it just shows what type of team we are.
"I thought we were brilliant and the backing from the fans was top class."
Dundee United had been one of the form teams but they were off it against Kilmarnock.
