Daily Record
|October 08, 2025
A WEALTH tax levvied on Scotland's 10 richest families could raise enough cash to lift 30,000 children in Scotland out of poverty, a report has found.
A tax of two per cent on those with assets worth £10million or more could bring in £492million a year, the research found.
The report, prepared by the Scottish Trades Union Congress for Tax Justice Scotland, said this would be enough to recruit 11,600 teachers or 12,900 nurses.
