Chancellor calls on party to keep faith

RACHEL Reeves issued a rallying cry as she reminded the country that Britain has overcome greater challenges than it faces today and urged faith in Labour's plan.

In an upbeat speech yesterday after a bruising few weeks, the Chancellor urged Labour members to “take pride” in the party's achievements after just 15 months in Downing Street.

She pointed to primary school breakfast clubs, more free school meals, a massive NHS cash injection and a pay boost for millions in the public sector.

Reeves told conference delegates in Liverpool: “No one said it was going to be easy. But take pride in what we are achieving together.

“Remember that in every single one of the 451 days we have been in office we have achieved more than in the more than 5000 days we spent powerless in opposition.”
