Greer says SNP strategy shows disrespect for other indy voters

JOHN Swinney's strategy to secure IndyRef2 “endangers” the case for independence, the Scottish Greens co-leader has warned.

Ross Greer claimed the SNP leader's plan was more about winning another term in power than advancing the case for ending the Union.

The First Minister has insisted his party must win a majority of MSPs on its own at next May’s election in order to have a mandate to call for another vote on the constitution.

Swinney’s view - which was formally endorsed by SNP members last week - is that a combined coalition of other pro-independence parties would not be enough to force the UK Government's hand on the issue.
