Scot, 41, shrugs off arm injury to complete world's toughest climb

A MOUNTAINEER has become the first Scots woman to conquer K2 - despite not having full use of one of her arms.

Kirsty Mack completed a lifetime ambition by scaling the world’s second highest mountain.

Her achievement was all the more remarkable because she doesn't have full use of her dominant left arm after a skiing accident in 2021.

Following rehabilitation and several operations, she came up with a “Surgery to Summit” idea to show injury doesn't end ambition.

K2, on the Pakistan-China border, stands at 28,251ft and is seen as one of the most challenging and dangerous mountains to climb.
