Star mates have Billy's back after op success
Daily Record
|December 03, 2025
BILLY GILMOUR last night declared he’s ready to hit the road to recovery after surgery on a groin issue with the World Cup just over six months away.
The Scotland star was inundated with support from his teammates at both club and international level, including Kevin de Bruyne, Scott McTominay and Lewis Ferguson.
The midfielder played 26 league games for Napoli last season en route to a fourth Serie A title in their history and has made a decent start to this one, scoring once in his first nine league matches.
Gilmour has not been a regular starter under Antonio Conte but has performed well when first choice holding midfield player Stanislav Lobotka has been absent.
