Skeldon in a race to be fit for opener

VETERAN Lana Skeldon is in the Scotland Women's squad for the Rugby World Cup - just five days after being carried off in a friendly against Ireland.

But the 81-cap hooker admitted it is touch-and-go whether her ankle injury clears up in time for her to face Wales in the first pool game in two weeks.

Skeldon said: “I'm just happy to be here and I'll take it day by day.
