LAWRENCE SHANKLAND has told his teammates to enjoy being top of the pile - because it's not all that long since they were suffering down the other end.

- BY SCOTT BURNS

And the Hearts skipper isn’t about to give up on scaling another summit on the international stage with a Scotland squad to break back in to.

The striker was named the Premierships Player of the Month for September after he netted three goals in two games, including a double against Rangers.

Shankland has helped Derek McInnes’ side to make an unbeaten start in the league, which has taken them two points clear of champions Celtic.
