Kidnap scheme mum refuses to comment on damning documentary

KAREN Matthews goes on a shopping trip with her paedophile boyfriend, in the wake of a damning documentary about her sickening past.

The 48-year-old, who plotted the kidnap of her own nine-year-old daughter in a bid to claim a £50,000 reward, now lives in the south of England with her partner Paul Saunders, a convicted child sex offender.

A new series on Amazon Prime looks back at the 2008 hunt for Shannon, which was West Yorkshire Police's biggest ever missing persons investigation.

Pulling a shopping trolley as she ran errands near the home she shares with Saunders, who was jailed in 2010 for sexual activity with a child, Matthews refused to comment on the documentary.
