Scotland's worst rent conman

Shameless Mills lied about wife dying to trick landlords
A SHAMELESS dad has been dubbed Scotland's worst rent conman after pretending his wife died of Covid so he could dodge paying £50,000 for numerous properties.
Swindler Adam Mills - who also lied that the same ex died during childbirth - said he was raising his two young kids alone.
His sick ploy was designed to manipulate landlords into handing over keys while he falsely claimed to have transferred rental fees.
At a property in Robroyston, Glasgow, he forged bank documents which falsely stated a £4000 payment had been made.
During a visit by the landlord, Mills, 41, said: “My wife passed away - it's just me and the two kids. It was during lockdown, obviously caught corona.
“It's a shame for (my daughter), she doesn't know any difference, she's only coming up on two. (My son) is four. He keeps asking.
“That's where my in-laws are fantastic. They'll take them away for me and let me get work done.”
However, the Record can confirm the claims are lies and his estranged wife is raising their kids on the outskirts of Glasgow.
Roofing boss Dave Kenna owns the Robroyston property where Mills moved to in May 2022. Dave, 53, said: “He said it would be great for him as his wife had just passed away and her family stayed close by.
“I felt huge empathy with him for his wife just passing away.”
Despite being “high risk” because of his poor credit rating, sympathetic property agent 1-2-Let let him move in.
