A FITNESS fanatic signed up for a non-stop 24-hour run to help people with a rare skin condition - right after finishing a gruelling 56-mile ultra-marathon.
Robert Marshall, 34, from Montrose, wanted to raise awareness for butterfly skin charity Debra - so he signed up for an even bigger challenge.
Speaking about his last run, Robert said: "The start line was at St John's Town of Dalry and finished in Moffat which is 56 miles away.
"The course was very tough, a lot of big hills and the ground was really boggy and wet, the midges were the worst I have seen.
"It took 14 hours. I finished 39th out of 281 people but I found it easier than I thought it was going to be. Apart from getting an injury I really enjoyed it.
"It was tough but that's my happy place, where I am at my best. I believe if you have the right mindset you can achieve anything.
