PM & Trump have face-to-face talks

KEIR Starmer met Donald Trump last night for a rare one-to-one.

The Prime Minister and the US President held talks as Starmer said the conflict between Israel and Iran would be the "No1 issue" of the G7 summit in Canada.

Yesterday Trump said the Iranians wanted to talk but warned Tehran "is not winning this war" and should discuss de-escalating "before it's too late".

He also said ahead of the summit the US would "come down on you at levels never seen before" if its own assets came under attack in the region.

Speaking yesterday ahead of crisis talks among leaders, Starmer said: "I do think there's a consensus for de-escalation.
