It's real pick & mix for Celts but three points is only sweet part

ARNE ENGELS is Celts' record signing and was bought to operate as a midfielder. He ended his evening at right-back.

Liam Scales has been the team's best and most consistent centre-half this term. He finished the contest at left-back.

When Johnny Kenny was taken off at halftime in a reshuffle that meant Daizen Maeda moving to central striker leaving a space on the right flank, it was Luke McCowan not £5million winger Michel-Ange Balikwisha who was handed the job.

When another £5m wideman in Sebastian Tounekti was hooked in the second period to open another void, Balikwisha still kept his tracksuit on and the shout went to Yang Hyunjun, who was supposed to leave three months ago. Mercifully for the champs, Callum McGregor stayed exactly where he always is. In the middle of the park, in the middle of the action and dragging his team to success with a piece of magic that underlines his ability and his leadership.

But, right now, it's disjointed all around him. There isn't just disconnect between fans and hierarchy in the stands. It's blatantly the same on the park.

The gap at the top may be down to four points but Celtic are living hand to mouth at the moment and the task is just to get through games and try to reach January still in touch.

Then reinforcements can be added.

Yet nothing is cast in stone when they get there and the club is going to have to get it right to help fix it.
