Ministers' consultation is hailed as key move for female victims

CRIMES against women are to be added to new laws aimed at tackling hate in Scotland.

The Scottish Government had refused to include sex in the new law which created a new offence of stirring up hatred against people because of age, disability, religion, sexual orientation and transgender identity characteristics.
