Actress Bessie Carter tells us about playing one of the Mitford sisters in a fascinating new drama

Bessie Carter made her name as scheming Prudence Featherington in Bridgerton.

Now, she's centre stage in another period drama as she takes the lead in Outrageous, a story about the scandalous Mitford clan.

Adapted from Mary S Lovell’s novel The Mitford Girls, the 1930s-set six-parter sees Bessie play Nancy Mitford - the eldest of seven aristocratic siblings who each clashed in different ways with the values of their time.

"I knew a weird amount about them already," Bessie, 31, said. "I've been strangely connected to Nancy for ages."
