Pamela's wish to visit monster Leathem 10 years after brutal murder

TEN years after Paige Doherty was murdered in a frenzied attack that shocked Scotland her mum Pamela has challenged killer John Leathem to meet her face to face.

Paige, 15, was left with more than 140 wounds as she fought for her life at the hands of deli owner Leathem, who hid her body before dumping it two days later.

Mum Pamela, 42, has shown remarkable resilience ever since, raising her other six children, setting up a charity in Paige's memory to help other families that have lost children, and campaigning for the rights of crime victims.

Marking 10 years since the senseless killing Pamela says she will write to Leathem, now 42, asking him to accept a visit from her in jail.

And she wants answers from the killer on why he murdered her daughter in an orgy of violence. She said: "I want him to face me, look me in the eye and tell me why he took my daughter's life when she had so much ahead of her." Leathem's defence team put forward a "nonsense" narrative in court that Paige had asked for a job in his sandwich shop and threatened to say he had touched her if he didn't hire her.

That was dismissed by trial judge Lady Rae who pointed out when sentencing Leathem that no evidence had been presented to support the claim.
