Time for Jambos to shine in derby

- BY MICHAEL GANNON

DEREK MCINNES insists Hearts are determined to reign in Edinburgh again after being made to suffer Sunshine on Leith.

The Jambos were caught cold at Easter Road at Christmas when Hibs raced to a 3-0 halftime lead and then held off a late fightback from the Gorgie men.

Hibs fans and players belted out their anthem at the end and McInnes is hoping it will be Tynecastle in full voice when the sides collide again tomorrow night as Hearts look to go six points clear of Rangers at the top of the Premiership.

The boss said: “There's nothing harder than a derby defeat. You know that and that’s the way it should be.

“We've got 13 cup finals left but every game against your local rivals should feel like a cup final. I know regardless of where Hibs and Hearts are in the league, whether it’s a bottom-six fixture or an end-of-season game or whatever, it should still have that kind of cup final feel to it.

“We were disappointed with ourselves at Easter Road.
