Scots mum out to make history as the UK's first female bare-fist boxing champ

A MUM says she will "make history" by becoming the UK's first female bare knuckle boxing champion.

Sandra Rees, from Annan, Dumfriesshire, started learning to box just years ago to improve her mental health.

But the 33-year-old - who is also an astrologer known as "the Tartan Witch" - has already built a reputation in the sport after becoming the first Scotswoman to compete at bare knuckle fights last year.

Now, the mum of two is confident she'll beat Northern Ireland's Linsey “Loopey” Moore for the inaugural UK female flyweight title in two months.

She said: “It means everything because it’s not just a fight - it’s history.

“It's the first fight of its kind. In 100 years from now that will be something that is written. It's not just the fighting for me, it's building a legacy and being the first female to do that.”
