Celts' triple injury blow as AJ is ruled out for THREE MONTHS while Idah and Trusty are doubts for £40m shoot-out

CELTIC have been rocked by a triple injury whammy after defender Alistair Johnston was ruled out for THREE months.

And Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers is also sweating over the fitness of Adam Idah plus Auston Trusty.

Johnston was stretchered off in the first half of Wednesday's Champions League draw with Kairat Almaty after pulling up with a hamstring issue.

In a bitter blow ahead of Tuesday night's £40million shootout in Kazakhstan,

Rodgers confirmed that the Canadian right-back will be sidelined until at least November.

He said: "Yeah, not great.

He'll probably be about 12 weeks. He obviously had his scan yesterday. It's disappointing for him because he has come back and started well. But that's that's where we're at.

"When you lose any player, especially of that calibre, then of course it is a disappointment. But it will provide an opportunity for someone to step in." Despite losing his top right-back Rodgers hinted he might not look to the transfer market for a replacement-with deputy Anthony Ralston and youngster Colby Donovan waiting in the wings.
