SCOTLAND is one of the most energy-rich countries in Europe and yet we pay some of the highest bills. It just does not add up.

Everywhere I go, people talk to me about how much they are struggling with their energy bills. It is a concern for everyone.

For some people, having to pay the huge costs is the difference between being able to afford those wee luxuries in life, like going on a family holiday, or just being able to buy some extra Christmas presents for the kids.

For others, the choice is even starker. People in 2025 are still facing the choice between heating their homes and feeding their families.
