JESPER'S GOT MAAR IN THE TANK AS RED

PASCAL JANSEN has backed Jesper Karlsson to give Aberdeen a shot at a European return next term.

Sweden international Karlsson has been a big signing for the Dons since he made his deadline loan switch from Bologna.

The winger already has four goals in 12 games and has become the biggest threat in Jimmy Thelin's side this season.

He has helped inspire a run of two defeats in their last seven and will be big as the Reds push to get back into the European places for next season.

Karlsson scored another long-range stunner in the 1-1 draw with Motherwell last time out.

Jansen, who coached him at AZ Alkmaar before his move to Italy, said: “Jesper is internally driven as a player. I remember several conversations.

“He would always put extra into his training, whether that was doing extra before or after training or both.
