Franco: Every player in squad has to be a Warrior in hectic schedule

FRANCO SMITH reckons Glasgow are going to need their whole squad to survive the busiest part of the season.

Warriors take on Scarlets tonight in what is the first match of a gruelling 10-game block that stretches into the New Year.

That hectic run also includes the two 1872 Cup derbies against Edinburgh and Champions Cup ties against Sale and Toulouse.

Smith has given many of his Scotland stars this weekend off after their recent efforts.

But the South African revealed he made his plans for tonight's game in Wales back in the SUMMER.

He said: "We've been preparing from the first week of preseason.

"I knew there were some players that were going to be selected for Scotland and were going to be involved in their training camps.

"Even if they didn't play on the weekends, they were going to be involved and out of the building.
