Holiday food poisoning kills grandad

A BRITISH dad died from food poisoning after eating undercooked chicken at a luxury hotel in the Canary Islands, an inquest heard.

Leslie Green was struck down with salmonella at the four-star Occidental Jandia Playa resort in Fuerteventura while celebrating his 70th birthday.

The grandad was taken into hospital during the second week of the £2300 holiday and developed complications including sepsis and kidney failure.
