Do not miss out on the Warm Home Discount

I'M worried about my heating bills and just realised I haven't applied for the Warm Home Discount. Is it too late?

IN Scotland, whether you need to apply depends on your situation.

If you receive the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit, you are in the "Core Group" and will automatically get the discount.

Your energy supplier should apply it for you, and you should receive a letter confirming it.

For everyone else in the "Broader Group" - households on other qualifying benefits or with a low income you will usually need to apply directly to your electricity supplier.

Applications open in October, and the scheme runs until the end of March, so there's still time to make a claim.

Each supplier can have slightly different rules and eligibility checks, so it's best to contact them as soon as possible to find out how to apply.
