Teenager with no acting experience lands role in throwback commercial
A SCOTS schoolboy has landed the lead role in Irn-Bru's latest TV advert which sees the return of the drinks brand's “Made in Scotland from Girders” slogan.
Davis Harvey, 13, had no acting experience when he was picked to star in the hilarious new commercial, which costars Still Game actor Sanjeev Kohli.
Set in a corner shop, Davis is seen in his first role as a plucky ginger haired kid who picks up a can of Irn-Bru before going on to school Sanjeev's shopkeeper on the merits of Scotland's other national drink.
Davis, from Dennistoun, Glasgow, initially takes umbrage at the cans being stocked in the soft drinks aisle.
Referring to the brand's famous line, he gives hilarious examples of what the drink represents - from "running into the freezing cold sea in your granny pants" to having the strength to get over an ex.
Davis was cast for the ad after getting an email from Bluevale community club in Glasgow's east end, which he attends.
