MAX AARONS reckons Rangers are on the right road with Danny Rohl despite their Hampden semifinal stumble.

- BY ANDY NEWPORT

The German gaffer saw his side crash to a 3-1 extra-time defeat to Celtic on Sunday and miss out on a spot in the Premier Sports Cup Final.

Tt was a backward step for team that had shown promising signs at last this term with back-to-back Premiership wins over Kilmarnock and Hibs.

But Aarons, 25, is convinced the Light Blues are heading in the right direction under Russell Martin's replacement.

And he believes a win over this week’s Europa League opponents Roma can get Rohs side rolling once again.

Bournemouth loanee fullback Aarons said: “In any Old Firm game, any semi, you have to be disappointed if you don't come out on top.

“However, putting that to the side, I'm really, really excited by this manager and what he’s brought.
