Crime UP, say third of Scots

THE SNP government has been urged to make policing a greater priority after a poll found a third of Scots believe crime in their area has increased.

Research by Survation revealed 34 per cent of those questioned think the crime rate in their areas is either a little or a lot more than it was two years ago.

That comes despite Scottish Government figures showing recorded crime in 2024-25 was down slightly from the previous year.
