COOPER'S VOW: WE'LL YOU FIGHT FOR ALL OF US

YVETTE Cooper praised brave Ukrainians for facing down Russian aggression, telling Volodymyr Zelensky: "You do this for all of us.

The Foreign Secretary was greeted warmly by the Ukrainian president in their first official meeting in the grand Office of the President Building yesterday.

Zelensky said: "I wanted to thank you [for the visit]. It is important for us."

She replied: "It is the most important place to be. Your security is our security."

Cooper went on: "Through your strength and your courage in the face of Russian aggression, we know that you do this for all of us.

"Your security is our security. That is why we were with you from day one and we will be with you all the way through to peace, to victory and also to rebuilding [Ukraine]."

The new Foreign Secretary visited Kyiv for her first overseas trip, in a gesture of solidarity with Ukraine as it faces intensified Russia aggression.

Nato countries are on high alert after Russian attack drones crossed into Polish airspace on Wednesday in an unprecedented incursion.

It came in the wake of Moscow’s largest aerial attack on Ukraine since the war began, which included a hit on a key government building in Kyiv for the first time.
