INSPIRED Viktor Hovland went from timid soul to roaring tiger over a few years at the Ryder Cup.

And the Norwegian star has vowed to take the lessons of a chastening opening experience on American soil to feed on success again at Bethpage.

Hovland was a guaranteed pick for skipper Luke Donald as he announced the selections to complete his side for the clash at the end of the month.

He made a weak start at the high-octane event when part of a side blown away by the home fans and team as Steve Stricker's side notched a hefty win at Whistling Straits in 2021.

Hovland managed just a point but spectacularly fired back in Rome, becoming a hero as Donald's side stormed to glory.
