Burns are too painful for me to pick up my wee boy and it's breaking my heart

David reveals extent of wounds as he faces up to lengthy recovery

A DAD who was burnt alive at a house party said he fears he may never be able to pick up his child again as he revealed the extent of his agonising injuries.

David Owen, 36, suffered horrific burns to 15 per cent of his body after he was allegedly "doused in lighter fluid and set on fire" at a flat in Perth.

The dad of one told how he was allegedly torched after a disagreement at the party on July 3.

He was hospitalised for four weeks and underwent two major skin grafts and an emergency op to open his airways.

After being transferred from Ninewells Hospital in Dundee to the burns unit at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, David was eventually discharged on Friday.

Speaking from his home in Perth, David told the Record he has been left "tortured" by his injuries, which have resulted in severe nerve damage and mobility loss to his neck and shoulders.

As it stands, he’s currently unable to pick up and carry his two-year-old son. He said: “I've been waking up in agony every day. Right now, I can't even pick up my wee boy.
