BY SCOTT McDERMOTT

Germany about their interest in Denmark star Andreas Skov Olsen on Sunday night, there was widespread approval across the Ibrox fanbase.

After all, the 26-year-old was excellent at Bologna and then electric at Club Brugge before being snapped up by the Bundesliga outfit last January for approximately £12m.

So if he’s available until the end of the season and Gers can afford to do a deal, surely it’s a no-brainer for Danny Rohl?

After all, he has been on the club’s radar since Giovanni van Bronckhorst was gaffer a few years ago.

But it’s not as simple as that. For a start, given his pedigree, there will be plenty of eyes on Skov Olsen from across Europe.

Already, after the Rangers link, several English Premier League clubs have reportedly registered an interest.

Also, you have to ask yourself exactly WHY the winger hasn't cut it at Wolfsburg after they paid so much for him.

If you speak to people in Denmark - he’s got 40 caps for the national team - they will wax lyrical about Skov Olsen's technical ability.

But, if there are question marks over him - or why it hasn't worked out in Germany - they'll point to his mentality.
