How fast the wealth of top 56 billionaires grew in past year
BRITAIN'S billionaires have seen their riches rocket over the past year while millions of ordinary people are still battling to make ends meet, research has revealed.
While many families remain in the grip of the cost-ofliving squeeze, the wealth of the richest 56 people has swollen by £11billion, equivalent to more than £30million a day, according to an Oxfam report published today.
The inequality has reached the stage where the top 56 are now worth as much as 27million other people in Britain combined, the charity calculated.
