But Halliday and his Fir Park pals are full of admiration for how the 18-year-old handles the hype.

Halliday said: "Lennon has had to deal with a lot. But, as impressive as he is as a player, his mentality is equally as impressive.

"He doesn't get too up, doesn’t get too down. Just goes about his business every single day.

"There was loads of interest in January as well. There were a couple of bids but he didn't let that affect him. Even when the move didn’t come about, he was still the same Lennon every single day.

"Working hard, giving 110 per cent and giving his all for Motherwell.

"It would've been so easy for a young boy, with big clubs after him, to have one eye on the summer when it didn’t happen.

"But no, he was right back at it. He got an injury after the window and, typical Lennon, he beat the timeframe to get back by a couple of weeks.

"All he wanted to do was get back on the pitch to help his club.
