Woman seriously injured by scooter

POLICE have launched an appeal after a woman was seriously injured when she was struck by a scooter as she crossed a road.
-
The collision happened on Tuesday in Ruabon Road, Johnstown, Wrexham, shortly before 3pm.
North Wales Police said the scooter rider and a pillion passenger made off from the scene, but two people were later arrested and the motorcycle has been recovered.
An air ambulance was also called and the road was blocked off.
