United unwilling to let Zirkzee go

MANCHESTER

United are unlikely to sanction a January departure for Joshua Zirkzee until their injury crisis has eased or key players return from the Africa Cup of Nations.Roma are keen to sign the forward next month as Gian Piero Gasperini looks to strengthen his attacking options, but United are reluctant to lose an attacking option at a point when their resources are stretched.

Zirkzee came on for the final 17 minutes against Aston Villa on Sunday.

United lost Kobbie Mainoo to a calf injury in training on Saturday and then saw Bruno Fernandes limp off at halftime at Villa Park.
