TRIBUTES PAID AFTER FATHER OF MURDERED APRIL DIES AGED 55

TRIBUTES have been paid to the father of April Jones, the little schoolgirl who was murdered, following his sudden death.

Paul Jones, aged 55, succumbed to a brain disease he developed in 2018, which came six years after the loss of his daughter.

April, just five years old, was abducted from outside her Machynlleth home in mid Wales in October 2012 and was killed by paedophile Mark Bridger, reports PA.

The sad news of Mr Jones's passing was shared on Tuesday by his stepdaughter, Jazz Jones.

In her heartfelt announcement, she said: "It is with broken hearts that my brother and I wish to let people know our dad (Paul Jones) passed away early hours this morning.

"It was very unexpected and we are all in shock."
