Conversely, Tandy is probably right to say they were their own worst enemy on the weekend.

seize chances truths for Wales

Steve Tandy has to find a way to turn things around for Wales

It was a horror first-half, the culmination of the worst parts of Wales’ game in the last year.

The kicking game was Wales' best way into the match, with it working relatively well in terms of gaining a platform.

Of course, they were up against a team who could outplay them in that area because of George Ford’s varied kicking game, but it still worked them up the field on occasion.

The issue was Wales couldn't do anything when they got that platform.

Four of the first five lineouts went awry for a variety of reasons, while Wales lacked any way of breaking down England's defence when looking to play from the scraps.
