DAVE REDDIN has revealed Steve Tandy won't be solely responsible for assembling his backroom team and that interim appointments may be needed for the autumn internationals.

- By STEFFAN THOMAS

Tandy's appointment as the new head coach of Wales was officially confirmed on Monday and work is on going to put a strong coaching team around the former Ospreys boss.

But Reddin - the Welsh Rugby Union's director of rugby and elite performance - insists he will have a big say in what coaches join Tandy.

"Steve won't solely select his backroom staff, but he will be fully involved in that process," said Reddin. "So we'll do that together.

"And it is about getting the right people in those spots as opposed to just getting the next people.

"Matt [Sherratt] and the team have done an outstanding job as interim. We'll go through a rigorous process.
