Rapist said 'I'm going to prison anyway' before carrying out 'horrifying' attack

A MAN who "viciously" assaulted a woman and then raped her has been jailed for more than eight years.

The victim tried to escape out of a window but was "hauled" back inside by Reece Wynne.

The 28-year-old, of Greenbank Lane, Soughton, admitted carrying out the attack in Flintshire this year. Mold Crown Court yesterday heard the victim - who cannot be named - and Wynne were at a property and were both drinking.

Things started well but he was "excessively intoxicated" and hit and beat her. She texted her mother asking for £20 to be put into her account so she could pay for a taxi.

Later the "extremely upset" woman left her mother a voicemail. Wynne took her phone off her and forced her to text that everything was fine.

Wynne slapped, kicked and stamped on his victim. The judge said the "sustained and prolonged" assault was so vicious she had significant facial injuries.

The victim tried to escape through a window but he "hauled her back" and raped her, the court heard.
