THOUSANDS of students across North Wales celebrated getting their GCSE results yesterday.

Pupils celebrate as Wales sees rise in GCSE grades

After months of hard graft, the day finally arrived where youngsters found out the fruits of their work, before deciding what to do next.

There were smiles and celebrations from Wrexham to Anglesey, with students once again getting excellent grades, despite tougher standards after exams returned to pre-Covid levels in Wales in 2024.

Council chiefs across North Wales lined up to pay tribute to the hard work put in by pupils and wished them the best for the future, as they weigh up the best options, heading into the future.

Cyngor Gwynedd’s Councillor Dewi Jones, Cabinet Member for Education, said: "This year’s results are very encouraging, and every pupil deserves great praise for their efforts.
