Overnight tunnel closure for repairs

TRANSPORT chiefs will close one of the Conwy tunnels overnight as repair work continues following the fire last week.

A crane truck caught fire in the westbound lanes last Thursday afternoon - triggering traffic chaos in the area as both tunnels were initially closed.
The eastbound tunnel reopened the next day and to the surprise of many the fire hit westbound tunnel reopened on Sunday. This was a major relief to local drivers, and visitors to the region.
