Outdoor brand plans to nearly quadruple sales

DEESIDE-BASED women's outdoor wear brand ACAI is targeting a near quadrupling in revenues to £20m over the next three years as it looks to drive international expansion.

Established by husband and wife team Kasia and Joe Bromley in 2016, ACAI Outdoorwear said it is providing an alternative to the industry's 'shrink it and pink it' way of designing clothes for women's bodies.

The business, which is currently generating annual sales of £5.5m, began when Polish-born Ms Bromley tore up a pair of £5 charity shop jeans to make ACAI’s first sewing pattern. It is now the brand’s bestselling skinny outdoor trousers, with over 50,000 pairs sold to date.

As part of its ambitious expansion plans, ACAI will now be extending its product range from mainly legwear to incorporate outer wear jackets, tops, mid layers and accessories.
