MURDER ACCUSED 'CAN'T EXPLAIN' ATTACK

A man accused of murdering a defenceless nan in her bedroom yesterday told a jury he had no explanation for the “terrible” attack.

Dean Mears, of Bodelwyddan Avenue, Kinmel Bay, denies murdering Catherine Flynn at her Rhyl home last October. The 34-year-old has admitted to the manslaughter of the 69-year-old victim. The trial, at Caernarfon Crown Court, has previously heard Mrs Flynn was stamped to death in her bedroom by an intruder.
