Motorists put on alert after cars are stolen in 'keyless' vehicle thefts

DRIVERS are being warned thieves are taking cars in 'keyless' vehicle thefts.

Offenders use a device that fools the car into thinking the key is close by, which then unlocks the car and starts the ignition.

Now North Wales Police are suggesting tips for motorists to avoid falling victim to the high-tech ploy, which include putting your car key in a signal-blocking pouch.

A spokesman on the NWP West Conwy Coastal page said: “We are warning car owners to remain alert following recent reports of keyless vehicle thefts in the West Conwy district.

“Two separate incidents were reported this week. On Tuesday, 12 November, a blue BMW 4 Series was stolen from outside a property on Gwydyr Road in Llandudno.
