Man left trapped under caravan and fighting for life in freak accident

ON a bank holiday Monday about seven years ago, Mike and Margaret Denan were preparing to go for a trip away in their caravan, like they had done many times before.

But this time, a freak series of events left Mike with horrific life-threatening injuries, as he was dragged under the caravan and across the road.

Whilst moving the twin-axle caravan off their sloping drive, in Drury, Flintshire, the movers malfunctioned and it started to roll freely.

Mike ran down the drive to try and put the manual handbrake on, but the caravan rolled over him. His foot was caught in the chassis and he was dragged down under the caravan.

Margaret said: “It just sucked him under like a rag doll and dragged him all the way down the drive and across the road, until the caravan came to a stop in the hedge over the road.”
