Man left in critical condition with head injuries after assault

A 40-YEAR-OLD man suffered serious head injuries in an assault near a bookmakers in Denbighshire. He remains in a critical condition in hospital.

The incident occurred near the William Hill bookmakers on Wellington Road, Rhyl, in the early hours of Saturday.

North Wales Police are now appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage. A man has since been arrested but the force said there is likely to be an “increased police presence” in the seaside town as investigations continue.
