Ex-barman and pals took on 40-mile sponsored walk in honour of 'absolutely brilliant' staff on cancer wards

GRUELLING TREK TO RAISE CASH IN MUM'S MEMORY

A FORMER barman has raised a glass to his friends after they joined him on a gruelling trek across three North Wales counties in memory of his late mother.

Father-of-two Dylan Parry and six colleagues from the Crown pub in Caernarfon walked from Rhyl back to the Gwynedd town in July to raise money for the Alaw cancer ward at Bangor's Ysbyty Gwynedd.

The 40-mile sponsored trek was organised in tribute to Dylan's mother, Mandy Parry from Caernarfon, who sadly passed away in August 2024 at the age of 58 after a long battle with breast cancer. She had received treatment at the Alaw ward at various points since her diagnosis five years earlier.

Now, after counting up the donations, the group are celebrating after their fundraising total reached the £3,000 mark.
