GATEWAY TO WALES ROAD CLOSURES SOON

A GATEWAY road to and from North Wales is to close next weekend and then be shut for three nights. National Highways is planning to replace a collapsed culvert along the A550 Welsh Road.

The route is a major conduit between North Wales and the Wirral, linking the M53 in Cheshire with the A494 and A55 in Flintshire. The affected A550 section is between the A41 near Hooton and the A540 at Two Mills.

Once the work is completed, it means temporary traffic lights can finally be removed. They've been causing delays for several months because of the damaged concrete culvert.

During the repair work, the A550 Welsh Road will be closed in both directions from 8pm on Friday to 5am on Monday.
